Strenuous Life – The New Strenuous Age
The Strenuous Life Program is a self-improvement and challenge-based program created by Brett McKay, founder of The Art of Manliness. Inspired by Theodore Roosevelt’s philosophy of living a vigorous, disciplined, and adventurous life, the program encourages men (and women) to push themselves physically, mentally, and socially.
Core Aspects of the Program
- Physical Fitness – Members commit to weekly physical challenges, inspired by Roosevelt’s belief in the importance of strength and endurance.
- Skill Development – Participants learn practical and survival skills, such as first aid, navigation, and craftsmanship.
- Service to Others – The program promotes volunteering and contributing to the community.
- Personal Discipline – Participants complete weekly tasks that build habits like journaling, cold showers, and reading classic literature.
- Adventurous Living – Encourages outdoor activities like hiking, rucking, and camping to build resilience.
How It Works
- Members complete 12 weeks of boot camp, where they must finish a set number of tasks each week.
- After boot camp, they continue earning badges for completing various challenges in fitness, skills, and personal development.
- The program includes an online community for support and accountability.
Who Is It For?
